Gambling Counselling. Counselling Exeter, Brian Dennis MBACP (Accred.), M.A.
I practise as a counsellor to assist clients to develop positivity and improved well-being.
Gambling can be a destructive habit, which often will negatively affect relationships, finances, employment, and other aspects of having an enjoyable life.
I work with various issues, using counselling, with clients in locations worldwide. One issue which is common in many locations is excessive gambling, which may also be called compulsive or addictive gambling.
I have extensive experience of working with problem gamblers, who often are then able to change their emotional ability to stop gambling.
People are usually in control of their emotional responses; most people would not contest a parking or speeding ticket from a police person - they would realise that it would be a futile, probably negative, emotional response.
Most people would instinctively drop a hot pan that they picked up with bare hands - they would realise that it would be a negative physical behaviour, and painful, to hang on to it.
Understanding that difference between emotional responses and behaviours, versus physical responses can be important.
The confidentiality of clients is an essential part of this counselling.
If you consider that you are a problem gambler, or have tendencies towards that behaviour, please contact me by email or my contact page.
