Counselling can assist in resolving insomnia, by helping clients to understand the problem and providing stategies to bring a normal sleep pattern back to the client.
Insomnia is a condition which has the following situations:
- a person will commonly complain of lack of sleep.
- a person will have difficulty going to sleep, or staying asleep, even when the sleep opportunity is available.
- the lack of sleep causes notable distress.
- the lack of sleep causes difficulty in the person's social or professional lifestyle.
Insomnia is not the same as being tired; it is associated with long-term lack of sleep, even though the opportunity to sleep has been available.
Counselling can assist in bringing back a normal sleep pattern.
