Loneliness.  Online counselling. Brian Dennis MBACP(Accred.)  M.A.

Loneliness affects different people in various ways. Humans depend on communications with other humans to provide collective knowledge. That provides improved chances of survival, which is a principal brain function.

Each species, including humans, have tendencies. Humans are naturally inclined to be a herd animal - we like to be with other humans, it provides an increased level of survival possibilities.

In that manner the inclination to communicate is a basic survival method, which humans wish to perform. Not being able to communicate therefore feels wrong and unnatural, which it is.
